Accor Services staff to participate in 12-month fundraising challenge for Action for Children

Accor Services is set to embark on a 12-month project working with Action for Children, in which staff have been challenged to raise at least 40,000 for the charity as well as increase awareness of the work it does to support vulnerable children and young people.

Accor Services' employees have been encouraged to offer their time, experience and energy once a quarter to events and initiatives across London supporting the charity. The Accor Services' annual management away-day will also be devoted to Action for Children, with the team of 35 managers working on a project in Chester to renovate an allotment.

A charity lunch and auction has also been organised at the Novotel Hammersmith in west London on Friday 4 December 2009, which will further enhance the fundraising opportunities.

Patrick Langlois, managing director of Accor Services, said: "As a childcare voucher provider, the upbringing of children is extremely important to us. We wanted to mark and celebrate this significant anniversary by providing our support to a charity that places children and their wellbeing at the centre of all they do.

"We are therefore delighted to be able to offer our support to Action for Children. They are an incredible charity and we are looking forward to working with them. We hope that our partnership over the coming 12 months will, in some way, help provide vulnerable children and young people across the UK with a better life."
