Go global

If you work in a multinational, you probably already have, or recognise the need for, a company-wide wellbeing strategy.

And having some global initiatives, such as involving employees in the Global Corporate Challenge walking initiative for example, can encourage a sense of healthy competition between regional offices.

However, Sarah Perkins, healthy living manager UK at American Express, warns: “Although the metrics and measures for global companies can be aligned broadly, it is important not to compare results between countries, because there are many factors that influence results, such as culture, environment, public health systems, and health information data protection. We have a global ‘Healthy Living’ vision and objectives, but some of the metrics and measures do vary slightly between countries depending on the services and initiatives they have in place for the local employees.”
