Her role is increasing the influence of the ground-breaking research she and colleagues have conducted over the years into how leadership, governance and teamworking should be understood and developed in today’s ever-changing world - particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the creation of deliberately different assessment tools, she has been helping leaders across the UK and globally to realise the benefits of a behaviour, rather than personality-based approach to increasing performance, change readiness and wellbeing. This has expanded through strategic partnerships she has developed with other organisations around the world.
Alban-Metcalfe’s passion is for creating inclusive organisations that achieve outstanding performance through winning the hearts and minds of their people. She has written many articles and book chapters on leadership, governance, teamworking and diversity and inclusion.
She is on the editorial committee of the European Conference on Management Leadership & Governance and until recently was co-chair of the Steering Group of the Engage for Success movement.
She has an MSc in occupational psychology from Birkbeck, University of London and an MSc in positive organisation development and change from Case Western Reserve University, Ohio.
She is currently undertaking a doctorate at Birkbeck exploring what constitutes the most effective leadership of hybrid teams.
