Top Employers for Working Families special award winners announced

Working Families has announced the winners of the 2015 Top Employers for Working Families Awards, sponsored by Computershare.
The awards, now in their sixth year, celebrate UK employers who go above and beyond to offer their employees flexible and family-friendly workplaces. HR magazine is exclusive media partner of the awards and benchmark, which will be revealed in September.
The panel of judges, which included Working Families CEO Sarah Jackson, Institute for Employment Studies associate principal consultant Mary Mercer and HR magazine editor Katie Jacobs, judged each entry anonymously. The winners are:

The DTCC best for innovation award

The Citymothers best for all stages of motherhood award
The Cityfathers best for all stages of fatherhood award
Winner: London School of Economics and Political Science
Commended: Scottish Parliament
Commended: West Dunbartonshire Council
The Direct Line Group best for line managers award
The Carers UK and National Grid best for carers and eldercare award
Jackson said: “The last year has seen many changes in the world of flexible and family-friendly working – the right to request flexible working for all and Shared Parental Leave are now firmly in place. The award winners have demonstrated the best and most innovative practices and have gone the extra mile to support their parents, carers and flexible workers. Employers who would like to build a loyal, engaged and productive workforce can find a lot to learn.”
Computershare managing director Julian Foster praised the winners for demonstrating that “both employees and employers benefit from a working culture that allows a balance with family and personal life”.
Shared parental leave pioneers
Working Families also announced its list of SPL Pioneers. This list recognises employers who were the first to offer enhanced Shared Parental Leave policies. The SPL Pioneers are:
