The pace of change in DC over the past decade has been anything but leisurely. One of the most significant changes has been the move away from final salary defined benefit schemes and towards DC pensions, which are now the dominant form of workplace savings.
We have also seen a shift away from dedicated pensions teams towards HR professionals becoming increasingly involved in the design, delivery and ongoing monitoring of company pensions.
So HR professionals need to get up to speed with DC pensions themselves, and rise to the challenge of engaging staff with an ever-more complex pensions landscape and with the imperative to up their contribution levels.
