Valerie Hughes-D'Aeth appointed BBC HR director

The BBC has appointed Valerie Hughes-D'Aeth as its new director of HR.

Hughes-D'Aeth, who is currently group HR and communications director at outsourcing services company Amey, will take up the role leading the corporation's people division in August.

She will report into Anne Bulford, managing director finance and operations, and will be part of the BBC’s executive team but will not sit on the executive board.

Hughes-D'Aeth, who is number 13 on the HR Most Influential Practitioner list, has also worked as group HR director at Xansa and Steria.

She said: “I am thrilled to be taking on this role at this exciting time for the BBC and look forward to working with such creative, talented people.”

Hughes-D'Aeth is taking over from Lucy Adams, who left the BBC 10 days ago.
