<p> DIY chain B&Q was today named as the only UK company to win a prestigious Gallup Great Workplace Award. <p>
<p>The award is the second time B&Q has won it, making it one of just nine companies worldwide to have done so more than once. It is presented to firms based on Gallup’s Q12 Employee Engagement measure, and recognises excellence in engagement.<p/>
<p>Currently B&Q has a 60% engagement score, according to the Gallup model. This compares to a global average of 28% and a UK average of 16%. <p/>
<p> Martyn Phillips, HR director B&Q said: “This award recognises the huge strides we have taken to put employee engagement at the heart of our business. Our people are the cornerstone to success in the current economic market.”<p/>
<p> B&Q was the only retailer to win a Gallup Great Workplace Award this year.<p/>
