HRMI 2022: Kevin Hogarth, chief people officer, KPMG UK

As chief people officer at KPMG UK, Kevin Hogarth is a member of the executive committee and reports to the chief executive. He is responsible for the strategic and operational aspects of HR, learning and culture in the UK firm, enabling KPMG to attract, develop and retain talented people at all levels of the organisation.

Before joining the firm, Hogarth was the global director of people and culture at the law firm Norton Rose Fulbright. Prior to that he was the global HR director at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He started his career with The Boots Company in Nottingham, also working for Abbey National, EY and Capital One.

Hogarth sits on the steering group of the FTSE Women Leaders Review (the successor to the Hampton Alexander Review) which KPMG co-sponsors. For many years he held various non-executive roles with Scope and served three terms as a governor on the board of Nottingham Trent University. In that capacity he was a member of the audit and risk committee, the nominations committee and chaired the remuneration and employment policy committee.

Currently he is a trustee on the board of two multi-academy trusts.

Hogarth graduated with a degree in politics from the University of York. He is a chartered fellow of the CIPD.
