HRMI 2022: Helen Redfern, chief people officer, Kier

Helen Redfern is chief people officer for UK construction and infrastructure services provider, Kier Group.

Since joining Kier in 2012, Redfern has redefined the HR function, launching a career development programme for all employees, introducing industry-leading family friendly policies and challenging the group to view diversity and inclusion as a business imperative.
 
With over 20 years’ experience, she has a track record of delivering transformative change within organisations, including introducing new people processes to the strategic plans at Sainsbury’s and implementing talent acquisition programmes at FTSE 250 company, Wolseley.

In her current role, Redfern is responsible for Kier’s people function, including HR, sustainability, health, safety and wellbeing, and asset management.
