HRMI 2022: Charlotte Sweeney, founder and CEO, Charlotte Sweeney Associates

Charlotte Sweeney has specialised in diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) for over 20 years.

Her clients include many FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies and gained much of her global experience leading DE&I in both retail and investment banking. 

She’s conducted independent reviews for the UK government, worked with the United Nations and co-created and launched the City of London Power of Diversity programme with the then Lord Mayor of London Fiona Woolf. 

She has also worked with the European Parliament and was vice-chair of an Acute Hospital Trust with responsibility of a £500 million annual budget. 

She is the co-author of the Financial Times published book Inclusive Leadership – the definitive guide to developing and executing an impactful Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, locally and globally, which was shortlisted for Management Book of the Year by The Chartered Management Institute (CMI). 

She holds fellow status with Windsor Castle Society of Leadership Fellows, CIPD and the CMI.  She has also been awarded Chartered Management Consultant (MCMI ChMC) by the CMI.

She was recognised in the New Year Honours 2017 list with Officers of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to Women and Equalities.
