HRMI 2021: Linda Holbeche, Co-Director, Linda Holbeche

Holbeche has worked as an independent consultant, coach, developer, and researcher since 2009. Clients include various universities and several multi-lateral international organisations. Holbeche sits on several advisory boards and is a member of the governance and strategy committee of a major international charity. She is visiting professor at five UK universities.

An established author in the fields of HRM and organisation development, her recent books include The Agile Organization (2018). During recent lockdowns she spoke at various online international conferences and wrote a third edition of Organisation Development: a practitioner’s guide (2021, with M-Y Cheung-Judge) and a new third edition of Aligning HR and Business Strategy (forthcoming).

Holbeche began her career in publishing. She then worked as a secondary school teacher before moving to American Express, becoming management development manager (EMEA). Later roles include working for Roffey Park as director of research and strategy, for the Work Foundation as director of leadership and consultancy and the CIPD as director of research and policy.

With a first-class degree in French from Durham University, Holbeche obtained Masters degrees in Romance Languages and Literatures and also in Curriculum Development. Her PhD thesis looked at the changing field of employment.
