HRMI 2021: John Drummond, Chairman, Corporate Culture

Drummond is chairman of corporate culture and author, this year, of two new reports. ‘The Human Organisation’ outlined nine principles of more human organisations. One of the models, on the five key workplace behaviours, was picked up and used as a core strategy by one of the UK’s leading office space businesses.

A second report, ‘The Human Organisation part two: innovation for everyone,’ was published in early October 2021 to explore innovation through a behavioural science lens. It explored three major areas for action to speed up innovation across organisations – open-up, power-up and join-up.

Over the last 20 years at Corporate Culture, Drummond has provided counsel to water companies (like Southern Water and Yorkshire Water), regulators (Ofwat), telecoms (O2, BT), energy (EDF Energy), government organisations (NHS, WRAP, Sport England), retail (ASDA, M&S), banking (Bank of America, RBS, Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC), FMCG (Unilever) and many others.

Drummond is a lead architect with WRAP of the RecycleNow campaign and Love Food Hate Waste campaigns.

Drummond has been a pioneer of corporate responsibility (1990's), cause-related marketing (2000's), behaviour change at scale (2000's), sustainable business (2010's) and how to make work more human (from 2020). He is married, has two sons, and flirts with photography and song-writing.
