A survey from Airfix shows 50% of recruiters blame working hours for not having the quality of life they would like and 50% of parents in the recruitment industry have had to give up a hobby because they are simply too busy.

Fathers in particular are feeling the pressure, with 45% admitting to less of a hands-on role with their children and 18% reporting they are becoming jealous of the amount of time their partners get to spend with the children.

On average recruitment consultants spend 12 hours a week playing with their children - but fathers spend an average 10 hours a week with the kids.

Results show parents in Aberystwyth fare worst - spending only an average of eight hours a week with children compared with parents in Aberdeen who enjoy an average 12 hours.
