RoSPA is looking for 10 organisations to take part in the scheme, following concerns young people are not properly equipped for driving at work. A study from the organisation found 60% of employers do not think the current system of driver training is enough to prepare people for work-related driving.
The workshops, set to run from July to October, will look at the differences in skills needed for driving for work and passing a driving test. Journey planning, hazard awareness, the causes of work accidents and ways to influence young drivers will be examined.
RoSPA will use feedback from the sessions to develop free training guides for employers.
Duncan Vernon, RoSPA road safety manager, said: "We want to empower employers to better equip and protect their young driving staff. Making these free resources available fits in with our charitable mission to save lives and reduce injuries."
