HR staff lead the way in feeling undervalued at work

More than one third (38%) of employees feel undervalued at work, while one in 10 is convinced their employer sees them as easily replaceable, according to the latest Badenoch & Clark Employment Study.

 

Feelings of being undervalued rise to nearly half (48%) of employees among 16-24 year olds while those in banking and HR are the most disillusioned. Only 57% of employees in these sectors said they felt valued at work, while one in four banking professionals said they felt easily replaceable.

 

Neil Wilson, managing director of Badenoch & Clark, said: "The results from this study paint a gloomy picture of nervous employees, looking over their shoulders and feeling distinctly undervalued by their employers. At a time when companies need to be getting the most out of their people, this should make for alarming reading."
 
He added: "Making staff feel valued and invested in will go a long way to getting the most out of them. If someone feels their employer recognises and supports their contributions, they're much more likely to go the extra mile."
