London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), the UK’s national school of public health, has launched a strategy to replace its personnel and payroll system.
The organisation is working with Northgate Arinso to implement a web-enabled integrated HR and payroll solution. The product will replace the current 10 year old system, providing LSHTM's 3000 staff - including permanent, temporary and honorary employees from the UK and overseas - with HR, payroll, self-service and web reporting.
It is hoped this will also ensure LSHTM meets HM Revenue & Customs payroll standards as well as other statutory or regulatory requirements set by the Higher Education Funding Council for England and the Higher Education Statistics Agency inter alia.
Kevin Roberts, management information systems officer at LSHTM said: "Our current system has been in place for ten years, over which time our organisation has changed significantly. We were looking for a partner that understood the public sector, and could handle the complexities of our large staff while reducing bureaucracy."
