The pensions industry has come top in a poll of the best colleague relationships.
The poll of 525 UK employees, by insider review site TheJobCrowd.com, asked respondents from a range of industries to anonymously reveal the truth about their roles, rating their jobs on factors such as responsibility, progression, colleagues, training and company - as well as sheer enjoyment.
Of the 26 industries covered in the poll, insurance and pensions came out top for colleague relationships and also fared well for job enjoyment and overall company rating. And it seems 'boring' industries scored well overall, with young professionals found to be happiest when working in transport and logistics. Sectors, which were perceived by many to be glamorous, ranked poorly in the poll.
Careers in media and broadcasting came bottom for training opportunities and were reported as being generally poor in terms of day-to-day enjoyment, behind only admin and IT work.
TheJobCrowd's co-founder Keren Mitchell, said: "Every industry comes with a reputation which certainly influences which firms graduates decide to apply to. Hopefully these findings will encourage job seekers to look further afield when applying for roles and with competition greater for jobs than ever before, this could really help them in finding graduate employment."
