Jerry Arnott has been appointed director, civil service learning.
He will take up his new role this month, having spent the past four years as director, organisation and people development, for the Department of Work and Pensions. Over the past 18 months he has led a pan-Civil Service project to integrate learning and development across all central government as part of a broader HR transformation programme called 'Next Generation HR'.
In his new role, Arnott will be responsible for establishing a centralised approach towards the provision of all generic L&D across the Civil Service. Arnott's background includes senior roles with National Grid, Cable & Wireless and Lloyds Banking Group.
