New CIPD vice presidents take up position

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's new vice presidents took up their position at the organisation's AGM yesterday.


Clare Chapman, director general of workforce at the NHS, and second in HR’s list of most influential HR practitioners this year, joins as vice president for organisation, resourcing and talent planning

She is joined by Stephen Frost, head of diversity and inclusion for the London Organising committee for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics and Katharine Turner, practice leader of Towers Watson’s Executive Compensation team.

"As the director general of workforce at the UK’s largest employer, I hope to be able to give the CIPD valuable insight into public sector HR and the challenges we face," Chapman said. "I’m honoured to take up the role and look forward to helping to shape the profession over the next two years."

In addition, Gill Rider, head of civil service HR, will officially take begin her two-year presidency of the Institute.

The vice president roles are non-executive positions have also last for two-years.
