BT work experience placements hit 1,500 mark

BT have hosted 1,500 work experience placements over the last year, the telecommunications company have announced.

The London Stock Exchange member stepped up its work experience programme at the end of 2009 as part of Business in the Community's "work inspiration" campaign, which aimed to improve placements for half a million young people a year.

The company aims to provide 3,000 placements by May 2011.

BT Chairman, Sir Mike Rake, said: "Work placements can help young people decide where their future lies. We do this because it is good for our business, it is good for our employees and it is good for our business, it is good for our employees and it is good for young people."
