The Random House Group has appointed its group HR director Neil Morrison to its main board.

Announcing the appointment, Gail Rebuck, chair and CEO, The Random House Group, said: "This highlights our commitment to talent management and recognises the importance that people and culture play in our business planning and organisational strategy."

Morrison joined The Random House Group, the UK-headquartered arm of the world’s biggest general book publisher, in September 2008, prior to which he held a range of roles at Home Retail Group where he worked for eight years, before which he worked for Rentokil Initial Management Services.

Morrison said: "The Random House Group is committed to people development and talent management and is demonstrating that through this appointment.  I look forward to working with the rest of the Board in both progressing our people initiatives and also our wider business strategy."
