Martin Tiplady, director of HR at the Metropolitan Police Service, has been awarded an OBE for services to policing in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Tiplady, who has headed up the HR team at the Met since 2002, currently holds the number three spot on HR magazine's Most Influential listing.

His most recent accolade follows the achievement of Caroline Waters, head of people and policy at BT, who was awarded an OBE in January for services to diversity and equal opportunity.
