InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG),will recruit for 3,500 jobs across the UK over the next three years.
The roles include hotel porters, catering assistants, waiters, waitresses and bar staff, which are jobs that currently have the highest rate of unemployment at 9.1%.
The vacancies have been created as IHG prepares to open 36 new hotels in the UK over the next three to four years. The company is creating over 100,000 jobs worldwide in the same period as it opens 1,400 new hotels across the globe.
Andy Cosslett, IHG's chief executive, said: "Hotels provide a quick and flexible way to get people back into work and provide a much-needed stimulus to the economy. We're playing our part with 3,500 additional opportunities in the next three years, but a commitment from the Government to support and promote the tourism industry would mean we could create even more jobs."
