BT has extended its web-based pay review software to manage its equal pay review.

The telecommunications firm had already been using payroll technology provided by Cezanne to manage pay reviews for 40,000 staff over 30 countries and has updated it so it can complete the pay review process by June 2009.

The system enables BT to build a hierarchy to manage the review process so managers know who they are responsible for reviewing. Data will be held in one place and updated in real time so BT's award specialists have total visibility of progress, budget, allocation, overruns and review timelines.

Mark Gardner, reward specialist at BT, said: "The whole [review] process was [previously] extremely complex, labour-intensive and inefficient. We have a finite time to manage the review process but the software makes reviewing managers' jobs much easier."
