Cubic Transportation Systems has implemented an online appraisal system.

The firm introduced Element 78 Solutions' Carbon360 platform to 160 staff and plans to extend it to another 300.

The system allows staff to answer appraisal questions online and leave comments. So far the company, which provides systems for public transport, has reported positive feedback from those reviewing and those being reviewed.

Liz Newman, head of human resources at the company, said: "Our roll-out process is well under way and we are already experiencing the benefits of the system. It encourages a structured, positive and objective approach to appraisals as relevant points are retained on the system for further discussion.
