Two thirds of UK staff have confidence in their organisations despite economic turmoil.
A report from recruitment agency Kenexa of 16,000 employees internationally shows three out of five UK employees have no fear of being made redundant but at the same time half do not think their employer is preparing them with skills for the future.
Jeffrey Saltzman, industrial psychologist and principal at Kenexa, warned employers: "While it may initially appear counter-intuitive, keeping your employees' skills sharp and making them attractive to the competition makes them more attractive to you, resulting in longer retention of your best talent. An added benefit of doing this is, as word spreads, additional highly talented people will be attracted to apply for positions in your organisation."
Globally, Indian employees come top of the business confidence list, with 81% having a ‘high level' of confidence followed by staff in the US (76%), Brazil (75%) and Russia and Canada (74%). Japanese employees come bottom (46%).
