Travelodge is to open 22 hotels in the run up to the festive period and will be recruiting managers, receptionists, housekeepers, cleaners and bar staff.

All new recruits will undergo a training programme and the company has also launched a 12 week fast-track management programme, a graduate scheme to develop managers of the future and a foundation degree in hospitality, budget hotel and retail management in partnership with Westminster Kingsway College.

Chrissie Herbert, HRD at Travelodge, said: "We want to make hotels available to everyone and that means careers [employees] as well as customers. We create vacancies for staff every six working days due to our major hotel openings programme.
