Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has launched a new talent management scheme that will put 10 employees though a number of development modules to help them climb the career ladder within the company.
The freight-forwarding firm will train selected staff on Hellmann-specific management and finance, product knowledge and management and supervisory skills.
The scheme, which will be called TalentPool, came after staff feedback revealed 80% felt training opportunities in the firm were limited.
David Richards, HR manager of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, said: "Employee recruitment at management level in an industry such as freight forwarding is a tough task, especially when it isn't particularly recognised as a higher education subject or vocational path in the UK. We therefore believe it is down to us to produce high-calibre staff."
