DSG International (DSGi) has launched a new HR system to optimise staffing levels and track the hours employees are working.

The company, which owns PC World, Currys and Dixons, has rolled out Torex Productivity Management across its 640 stores. The system will allow the retailer to optimise staffing levels to better cater for each outlet's specific needs - including sales targets and demands from local communities. It will also track employees' working hours, ensuring staff wages are paid accurately and on time.

It is hoped the system will improve customer service and, in turn, pass on cost savings to customers.

Jon Naylor, head of productivity at DSGi, said: "Our goal is to offer customers an unbeatable combination of value, choice and service. By tailoring our [staff] resources to suit each store's particular requirements, the productivity management system will help us achieve this."
