Jewish Care has been inundated with job applications this year - reported a 1,600% increase.
The charity, which provides health and social care for British Jews, usually has 100-200 responses to job advertisements but so far this year it has received 1,908 telephone enquiries and 467 email applications.
The organisation sent out 2,000 applications and interviewed 140 people for 43 care worker vacancies.
Diane Blausten, Jewish Care's director of HR, said: "We have been inundated with enquiries and have received some very high-calibre applications. We hope our care homes will benefit from the experience and skills applicants have to offer."
