Finding a job has become so tough, 28% of jobseekers say they would change their career just to secure employment.
This the result of research by interview skills training website, InterviewGold, which also found 44% would take a drop in salary too, with 85% saying they would apply for jobs they were over-qualified for.
Joe McDermott, CEO, Interviewgold.com said "The statistics illustrate just how difficult the job market is at present. Despairing job seekers seem to be willing to go to any lengths just to get a foot in the door."
He added: "What many people don't know, is that it is actually more difficult for overqualified candidates to find work this way. Employers are reluctant to employ them as they fear they will leave as soon as something better comes up."
