The Bic Group has implemented an online talent management system to improve the efficiency of its workforce management processes.

The firm, which makes stationery and shaving products, worked with Taleo Performance to implement the global scheme.

The system allows employees to access and update their individual profile online, where they can enter their objectives and development plans. Managers can also access this data, allowing them instant information for decision support and development planning.

The system will allow the company to make organisational changes instantly and provide up-to-date metrics.

Previously group used a manual process but the online system has turned performance management into an everyday occurrence for staff.

Manuel Martinez, HR development director at Bic, said: "From an international standpoint, we needed a system that would appeal to managers around the world, regardless of location. This system [allows us to] address performance management from the top down."
