The GMB has called on Labour's National Executive Committee (NEC), which meets today, to deselect MPs who have made unjustified expense claims.
The trade union claims there is no excuse for MPs not to have exercised proper judgement when claiming their expenses and those without moral judgement should not have a place in Parliament.
The union's general secretary, Paul Kenny, added: "MPs guilty of this have brought Parliament and the Labour Party into disrepute. GMB members want the NEC to outline the process that will be used to deselect these MPs as candidates for the Labour Party for the next General Election.
"GMB members also want to see urgent action in Parliament to introduce a fair and transparent expenses system which will command the support of the nation and restore much-needed confidence in Parliament."
