Dixon has been working at the university since 2002, and was appointed deputy HR director in 2004. He has been acting HR director since 2008 and has now been appointed to the role in a permanent position.

In this new position Dixon's first challenge will be to conclude a review of the current HR service and structure in order to improve services to better support the university in delivering the aims in its corporate plan.
