Jo Daubney has joined Young's Seafood as its director of human resources. She was previously Western Europe HR manager at BSN Medical.

- What does your new role involve?

Young's Seafood employs around 2,500 people, the majority of whom are based in Grimsby with the remainder spread across its other UK sites. It has a turnover in excess of £300 million. I will be responsible for driving employee engagement and ensuring Young's continues to attract the strong candidates it needs to fuel its growing business.

- What attracted you to the role?

The brand and the executive team. I met a number of executives as part of the selection process and their passion for the company excited me.

- What skills and experience do you bring?

I have worked in both HR generalist and project roles so I have a lot of change management experience. In my previous company I was exposed to lots of challenges including mergers and acquisitions, SAP projects, European infrastructure design as well as undertaking a commercial management role. This has given me a great variety of experience and knowledge to bring to my new role.

- What's the greatest challenge over the next 12 months?

To ensure the HR function contributes fully to the profitability of the company by maximising resources and minimising costs.

- What do you do to unwind?

I like to travel to Italy when I can but normally I have a glass of red wine and think about it.
