Nigel Perks is moving to BT to become chief human resources officer at BT Global Services from 20 October.

Perks will replace Alan Davis who leaves the company after 36 years. He will report to Francois Barrault, CEO of BT Global Services, and Alex Wilson, HRD at BT Group.

Perks has been human resources director at Logica since 2004, before which he was corporate HRD from 2001. Previously he was European HRD at Equifax and has held a variety of HR roles at Prudential and Digital Equipment Company.

Commenting on his appointment, Perks said: "I am very excited by the challenge of my new role. Global Services is a fantastic international success story and I'm delighted to become part of the senior team that will be driving this forward."
