The Government is launching a campaign to highlight the free employment law advice available to small businesses.
It says many small firms are paying for advice that they could be getting for free.
Research from The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform reveals that 40% of businesses say they are likely to seek outside help on employment issues in the next year. But it wants to encourage businesses to seek advice on its free website, www.businesslink.gov.uk, instead.
The employment law guidance campaign aims to reach 400,000 small businesses.
“Employers will get a clearer picture of their legal obligations towards employees and save themselves time and money too,” says employment relations minister Pat McFadden.
