Freelance HR professionals offer the most generous discounts to third sector organisations, compared to workers in other professions.
According to a new Peoplecharity.com survey, 40% of HR freelancers cut their rates by around 15% for the charity sector. Management consultants come joint top of the table, with four in ten of them also offering a discount of around 15%. Freelance lawyers follow, with one in three of them routinely offering an average of 14.9%.
The study surveyed 9,000 freelance professionals.
“It is noteworthy from this research that giving to charity through skills is on the increase among freelance workers, with 35% of independent professionals now working for the third sector at a discount that averages out at 14%,” says Duncan Taylor, managing director at peoplecharity.com.
