Technology eludes HR

The vast majority of organisations are still relying on paper-based, manual HR processes, even though 75% are aware of internet-based alternatives, according to exclusive Qikker Solutions research for Human Resources.

The study shows that 70% of companies depend upon paper processes, with 48% of respondents saying that the main barrier to eHR implementation is cost.

However, 74% of organisations have budgeted or are budgeting for eHR.

“HR has failed to grasp the potential of technology and now plays second fiddle as a result,” says Michael Doolin, HR director at Geopost. “HR has allowed itself to fall into a position where the technology drives the function rather than the other way round.”
