Janet Gaymer, Human Resources columnist and senior partner at Simmons & Simmons, has been made commissioner for public appointments. The role includes regulation, monitoring and advising on all appointments made by UK ministers and members of the National Assembly for Wales. She replaces Baroness Rennie Fritchie.
