Shlomo Ben-Hur is an organisational psychologist and a professor of leadership and organisational behaviour. He has 25 years’ corporate experience within senior executive positions at multinational companies, and is currently a professor at Swiss business school IMD.

Ben-Hur's research, teaching and consulting activities are focused on the psychological and cultural aspects of leadership and the strategic and operational elements of talent management and corporate learning. His books include The Business of Corporate Learning: Insights from Practice, as well as Changing Employee Behavior. A Practical Guide for Managers and Talent Intelligence: What You Need to Know to Identify and Measure Talent, which he co-authored.

He has also written a number of business case studies, including a series that won the Responsible Leadership Award in the European Foundation for Management Development’s case writing competition.

Ben-Hur chairs IMD's chief learning officer roundtable, is director of the school’s organizational learning in action programme in Lausanne and Singapore, and oversees the leadership faculty for its breakthrough programme for senior executives and its advanced strategic management programme.

Prior to joining IMD, he was vice president of leadership development and learning at BP Group, based in London, having been chief learning officer of DaimlerChrysler Services in Berlin, the financial services unit of the car manufacturer, where he headed its corporate academy.

Early in his career, Ben-Hur worked with consultancies and the Ministry of Education in Israel, focusing on leadership, organisational development and the promotion of democracy and co-existence in the Arab and Jewish school systems.

He received his doctoral degree in psychology from the Humboldt University of Berlin, and has a master’s degree in industrial/organisational psychology and a bachelor degree in psychology and political science from Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv. He was a founding member of the steering committee for corporate learning at the European Foundation for Management Development, and a member of the awarding body of the EQUIS accreditation system for business schools.
