Chris Roebuck has a unique perspective on how organisations can get the best from people to deliver success
Having been a leader in the military, commercial world (including SMEs), and public sector in line management and HR he understands the key success factors in how HR can enable success as well as delivering great HR. This 'both sides of the fence' perspective, combined with his role as honorary visiting professor of transformational leadership at Cass Business School means Roebuck adds a valuable contribution to the profession.
He spends most of his time speaking to CEOs, finance directors and other senior leaders across the world to get them to engage proactively with their HR teams. He sets out a compelling vision that shows their route to success, via 'I CARE' leadership, which needs HR involvement to get the best from everyone and focus that onto what delivers success. When working with HR Roebuck pushes the profession to keep it simple and be focused on practical action that delivers what organisations need. His development of the HR entrepreneur as a successor to the HR business partner shows this in action.
In his HR roles, such as global head of leadership at UBS, which won awards and is now part of a Harvard case study, head of partnership for London Underground, or supporting the NHS to introduce high-potential identification and its first talent and leadership guidance, Roebuck seeks out opportunities for HR to make a real difference.
