Rachel Brace, HR director, the Football Association

Rachel Brace has more than 20 years’ experience in HR

As HR director for the Football Association (FA) she is responsible for leading the people strategy for the entire national governing body, from those supporting and developing the grassroots game to the senior England teams.

Before joining the FA Brace was HR director for England Rugby 2015, the tournament organiser for the Rugby World Cup. She was one of the early members of the team responsible for building and mobilising a workforce of more than 6,000 people and prior to that was head of HR operations for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Brace joined that team in 2007 and was a key player in the organisation, delivering a multi-venue world-class sporting event.

The first half of Brace’s career was spent in retail at Marks & Spencer where she gained some very valuable skills and experience, particularly in her last role as head of HR for the clothing and home division.
