The hotel chain announced today that she will join the company on 6 October, reporting to chief executive Peter Gowers.
Gowers said the staff at Travelodge were delighted at the announcement.
"Julia brings great experience in developing distinctive brands through people, and her role will be vital in our transformation," he said.
Rosamond leaves Nando's, where she was responsible for 10,000 staff across 300 restaurants, after 17 years. Before this she was HR director for Pelican Group, which runs Café Rouge among other outlets.
Rosamond said she was excited to be joining the hotel company "at such an important time it its development".
"With the hotel modernisation programme well underway and fantastic people across the business, we’re in a great position to grow," she said. "I’m really looking forward to helping place people at the heart of everything we do, as we continue to strengthen the service we offer for our customers.”
