Employers urged to help staff eat more healthily

Employees' unhealthy eating habits are responsible for 97 million lost working days a year.
Research from the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) shows most office workers take less than 20 minutes for a lunch break, with 90% of staff eating lunch at their desks.
According to the FDF, this form of eating is unhealthy and can lead to bad dietary habits among employees.
A spokesman from the FDF said: "A healthy and committed workforce is vital to business success. Promoting a healthy diet and eating habits among staff should be an important part of any workplace wellbeing programme. There is a clear business case for employers to invest in the health and wellbeing of their staff."
Liz Ellis, HR director at Danone UK, added that employers should consider providing staff with nutritional food as part of a wellbeing strategy.
She said: "It is really important to encourage our employees to be healthy. We believe encouraging our employees to eat healthily by giving them access to healthy food, and nutritional advice enables this to happen."
