BBC's human resources director claimed to be leaving board of directors

The BBC's human resources director, Lucy Adams, is reported to be leaving the organisation's board of directors, following the redundancy of deputy director general Mark Byford.

According to reports in The Independent, Adams, along with head of marketing and communications Sharon Baylay, is to leave the board of directors. She will retain her role, but report to Caroline Thompson, the chief operating officer at the BBC.

The move comes as part of a 25% cost-cutting initiative among senior managers.

A spokeswoman from the BBC refused to comment on the situation, other than confirming the news about Byford’s departure.
