Stonewall has opened its annual Workplace Equality Index to find Britain's most gay-friendly employer

The Index, which attracts entries from hundreds of employers across the country, is free for employers to enter. Lesbian, gay and bisexual staff can also take part in their employer’s entry by providing anonymous feedback – and in the 2010 Index over 7,000 gay staff chose to do so.

IBM secured the top spot in the 2010 Index, with corporate firms, councils, a charity and two police forces appearing in the top ten positions. Employers have until September 10 to enter the Index. Britain’s most gay-friendly employers in 2011 will be named in January, when the Top Employers list is published.
